ReBrandSA Competition FAQs
1. What’s the point of this competition?
This competition gives all South Australians the chance to share their ideas about how our state should be marketed. Hopefully it will also change the way people perceive our state, and maybe even result in a new official campaign (but we definitely can’t guarantee that. We’re just looking for ideas here).
2. How do I enter?
Firstly, you’ll need to come up with an original idea for a new brand for South Australia (preferably NOT Sensational Adelaide – the Grand Prix is gone, we’re not getting it back and we really don’t need to go back to the old brand). Then fill out the entry form on this site, including a description of your brand and why you think it’s the best (250 words max). Then you need to upload a video which sells your brand to the judges, and to the South Australian voting public (remember, it can’t be longer than 75 seconds, but it can be shorter). Good luck!
3. How much does it cost to enter?
Absolutely nothing, other than your time. (And maybe the actor’s fees. And the camera hire. And the production costs.)
4. How many times can I enter?
You may enter as many times as you like, provided each entry is unique, and that you provide valid contact details for each.
5. I don’t live in SA – can I still enter?
Unfortunately, entries by non-South Australian residents will not be eligible for the prizes.
6. What are the prizes?
There are two prizes up for grabs – $5000 CASH for each. There’s a ‘People’s Choice’ award, and a ‘Judge’s Choice’ award. And it’s possible for the one entry to win both.
7. How do I win?
To win the ‘People’s Choice’ award, your video has to get the highest rating on the site. How you do this is completely up to you (but we will frown upon mass bribery and internet fraud). To win the ‘Judge’s Choice’ award your entry has to impress our fabulous judges who will decide the winner. They will make their decision based on criteria including innovation, creativity, marketability, saleability, feeling, vibe, mojo and your pina colada-making skills.
8. Can I win both prizes?
Absolutely. The winner of the People’s Choice award will still be eligible for the Judge’s Choice award. Go hard!
9. Who are the judges?
A pretty interesting group of people, if we do say so ourselves. There’s the Lord Mayor of Adelaide Steven Yarwood (a social media addict who’ll tweet the winning entry with reckless abandon), the President of the Property Council SA Division Justin Hazell (he keeps us real – Respect.), and Glam Adelaide’s Kelly Noble (socialite extraordinaire and PR uber-guru).
10. I can’t see my entry on the site – what do I do?
Firstly, please remember that all videos are checked for offensive/illegal/inappropriate content before they are uploaded, so there will be a slight delay between when you submit your entry and when it goes up on the site. If it’s still not up after 24 hours, get in touch with us (The Property Council of Australia SA Division) and we’ll try to figure out what’s going on.
